Complex doesn’t haveto Feel Complicated

Senior Product Designer and Frontend Engineer working on products where users, technology and business complexity need to coexist — without making that complexity the user’s problem.

Typography

Typography shapes how I think about systems, detail, rhythm and identity. With LO-OL, I move from single letterforms to the systems type has to work in. I see it as both a cultural object and an interface tool: it carries tone, sets hierarchy and guides navigation. That precision carries into my product work.

A type system guides the reader's eye: hierarchy, rhythm and spacing show where to look first and what belongs together. It helps structure thought, turning a stream of text into ideas that can be followed. And every typeface is a cultural artifact, projecting the history and values it comes from, from Hangeul to Latin.

Frontend Engineering

I code to understand what happens to a design after it leaves the canvas. I work with React, Next.js and TypeScript, across APIs, headless systems and automation. It lets me prototype realistically, work closely with engineers and weigh implementation cost early. Code, performance included, is another material for designing experiences.

At the Open Brain Institute, I built Reports: scientists turn the models and simulations they generated into a full paper, review it with peers through comments and discussions, then publish it with live simulation viewers. At LO-OL, I built the platform where customers test, buy and download fonts.
